The Millbrook Society is involved in many aspects of education.  Our primary involvement is within the Student Intern Program under the Education Division.  The Education Division is led by David Shannon.

Our Other Programs:

Archaeology: We operate programs with other organizations where we teach students in the basics of archaeology to support the interest of the organization in the operation of their own site.  We also instruct those that come to our sites and wish to participate in our operation.  On occasion, we conduct special programs to instruct interested individuals in the disciplines of the science.  We have cooperated with Penn State, Abington by offering field school opportunities for their students.  At times, we send our members to special seminars to learn more about the various arts and crafts of archaeology.

Re-enacting:  We re-enact the history of the colonial period.  In this re-enactment, we teach the actors and the public of the dress and general culture of the period.  At times, specific characters are played out of our local, regional and American history.  We participate with other organizations in the area in an effort to educate the public in the history of our country.

Field Trips: The Society selects and plans field trips to sites around the eastern states that have some historical importance.  This includes towns, buildings, museums, battlefields, parks, and homesteads.

Weekly adult meetings are held Wednesday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 PM. Please come and join us.
