The Society participates in many activities that relate to our interests and objectives.  In addition to meeting weekly at our museum, active members also attend scheduled events in the region and those scheduled specifically for the Society membership.  If you wish to see our Calendar of Events, click Here.  Our typical areas of activity are as follows:

Archaeology - This is one of our active areas of interest.  Information on this activity can be found by use of the navigation button on the left.

Field Trips - We plan field trips to historic sites in the region.  Most field trips are conducted in one day, with some extending to an overnight excursion.  Our student interns participate in these field trips and, at times, initiate them.  Some field trips are scheduled for the purpose of specific research in a field of interest.  Information about past field trips can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph.

Local Events - The Society participates in local events held by other organizations, such as historic celebrations, promotional events, and educational programs.  Our student interns participate with our adult members in these events.  Information about some of these events can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph.

Presentations - Society members make presentations to other interested groups on characters and events from our nation's history. The Society schedules a presentation, on occasion, in the Hatboro Baptist Church where the membership and general public are invited to a selected program presenting information about a character, location or event in history.  Scheduled presentations can be found on the Coming Events page.

Re-enacting - Both the adult and student intern members participate in programs that involve re-enactment of colonial and 19th century characters in attire of the times.  Characters and settings are, at times, specific, such as our annual "Colonial Christmas", or general, where the customs of the period are portrayed.  The specific characters played may be noted people from our American history.  Information about past re-enactment programs can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph.

Research - Many types of research are conducted by both our adult members and student interns.  The public is also invited to make use of our resources in our museum and archives.  One of the more popular research projects is to do a genealogy search on your family.  We use several programs that assist our research.  We also conduct research on historic characters, properties and events. (The Research page of this site is still in the process of being developed and will be posted in the future.)

Walking Tours - We will, at times, conduct walking tours of historic areas to view the historic buildings that remain in the area and those that represent specific periods in our history.  We have produced maps that can be used on the tour to identify specific properties.

Weekly meetings are held Wednesday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 PM.

Please come and join us.
