The Society participates in many activities that relate to our interests and objectives.  In addition to meeting weekly at our museum, active members also attend scheduled events in the region and those scheduled specifically for the Society membership.  Planned activities can be reviewed on our annual Society plan that is published at the beginning of each year.  The see our current (2008) Annual Plan, click HERE.  Our areas of activity are as follows:

Archaeology - This is our most active area of interest.  Information on this activity can be found by use of the navigation button on the left.

Field Trips - We plan field trips to historic sites in the region.  Most field trips are conducted in one day, with some extending to an overnight excursion.  Our student interns participate in these field trips and, at times, initiate them.  Some field trips are scheduled for the purpose of specific research in a field of interest.  Information about past field trips can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph. (The Field Trips  page of this site is still in process and is now posted.  More information will b e added in the near future.)

Local Events - The Society participates in local events held by other organizations, such as historic celebrations, promotional events, and educational programs.  Our student interns participate with our adult members in these events.  Information about some of these events can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph. (The Local Events  page of this site is still in process and will be posted in the near future.)

Presentations - Society members make presentations to other interested groups on characters and events from our nation's history. The Society also schedules a presentation in November of each year in the Hatboro Baptist Church where the membership and general public are invited to a selected program presenting information about a character, location or event in history.  The 2006 presentation was titled: "September 11, 2001 - The World Trade Center", and was presented by our member Gary Hanley. (The Presentations  page of this site is still in process and will be posted in the near future.)

Re-enacting - Both the adult and student intern members participate in programs that involve re-enactment of colonial and 19th century characters in costumes of the times.  Characters and settings are, at times, specific, such as our annual "Colonial Christmas", or general, were the customs of the period are portrayed.  The specific characters played may be noted people from our American history.  Information about past re-enactment programs can be seen by clicking on the heading of this paragraph. (The Re-enacting page of this site is still in process and is now posted.  More pictures will be added in the near future.)

Research - Many types of research are conducted by both our adult members and student interns.  The public is also invited to make use of our resources in our museum and archives.  One of the more popular research projects is to do a genealogy search on your family.  We use several programs that assist this research.  We also conduct research on historic characters, properties and events. (The Research page of this site is still in process and will be posted in the near future.)

Walking Tours - We will, at times, conduct walking tours of historic areas to view the historic buildings that remain in the area and those that represent specific periods in our history.  We will lead public walking tours of specific areas and produce maps that can be used on the tour to identify specific properties. (The Walking Tours  page of this site is still in process and will be posted in the near future.)

Weekly adult meetings are held Wednesday nights from 7:30 - 9:30 PM. Please come and join us.
