GRIST The Millbrook Society publishes a journal that is named the "Grist" in consideration of our name and original focus to preserve a local mill. It is published each quarter and includes contributions from our members as well as the public at large. It also includes news of the activities of the Society over the past quarter. Upcoming events, such as field trips are also listed. It normally consists of eight pages and is distributed to our membership. We provide copies to other historical organizations and also hand out copies to interested parties at special activities, when available. The last issue went out in June (the Spring - 2008 Issue) and contained material on The Loller Academy, The Tale of Two Towns called Crooked Billet; Lafayette (Adopted Son), Part V; Educator's Corner; and Society News. The next issue (the Summer 2008 Issue) will be coming out in September. It will contain the sixth and final part of the book report on "Adopted Son". Other new material will also be added to the issue. Members, as well as non-members, are encouraged to submit articles for publication in our journal. The material offered should be in the interest areas of our members. Articles from issues published from one year back and earlier will be published on this site as they can be prepared. When they become available on the site, they may be accessed through the Grist Article Index. |
