The Millbrook Society opened the doors to the new Amy B. Yerkes Museum of Hatboro History during the Pennypack Community Center's June Friday Party in The Park (formerly Music in the Meadow).
Over 100 folks stopped in during the Friday Party in The Park event to catch our newest displays --- an authentic 1800s tanned buffalo pelt robe and the historic cupola that stood atop Borough Hall/Lollar Academy until it was removed in April. Guests were also able to chat with us about what's coming next at the museum and with Millbrook, find their house from the air as it looked in 1950, play Hatboropoly, hear the creepy tales of the ice coffin, explore the original Roberts & Mander stove, sign the guest book, and of course..... take selfies with the giant penguin named Jack!

The Millbrook Society at the 2025 Hatboro Community Day at Hatboro Pool

The Millbrook Society joined the Borough of Hatboro with a table full of fun and colonial games poolside at the 2025 Hatboro Community Day at the Hatboro Pool where we showcased the museum and the historical society with archeology items, museum artifacts, Colonial games, and Travel Jack the Penguin.

2025 Millbrook Society Annual Meeting and Presentation "An Historic Postcard Tour Through Hatboro & Eastern Montgomery County"

The Millbrook Society met with members and fellow Hatboroans in Fellowship Hall at Hatboro Baptist Church for the 2025 Annual Meeting to discuss Millbrook business and hear a fascinating presentation on local history from a special guest speaker.
After brief Society business was covered (including the reelection of the Board of Directors), the highly engaged crowd enjoyed a the special presentation An Historic Postcard Tour Through Hatboro & Eastern Montgomery County from Old York Road Historical Society's David Rowland, author of Arcadia Publishing's Willow Grove Park and president of the Old York Road Historical Society.

Description: Drawing upon the Old York Road Historical Society's large postcard collection that contains many real photo postcards, this tour covers many historic sites in Hatboro and the easternmost portion of Montgomery County. The tour travels up Old York Road, Easton Road and Huntingdon Pike showcasing how the area looked in the early 1900s.

Join us for The 2025 Crooked Billet History Fair, the area's premier FREE annual history event! Experience exhibitors, games, presentations, activities, costumed characters, demonstrations, speakers, free swag, community, and more —showcasing shared local history and those that keep the light on to preserve it, with over two dozen exhibitors from Hatboro, Philadelphia, and across Bucks and Montgomery Counties. This year’s fair will be bigger and better than ever, with more attendees, presentations, exhibitors, and giveaways, including a free fair tote bag (first 250 guests) — all presented by local sponsors for the first time.
This popular annual fair — organized by The Millbrook Society — draws history enthusiasts, families, educators, and students from across Bux-Mont and Philly to engage with historical societies, museums, municipalities, community organizations, and more (see exhibitors below) showcasing artifacts, maps, photos, documents, models, apparel, accessories, and other items. Come learn about our area, share stories of our history, hear what historical societies do to preserve and promote our heritage, and discover resources to assist in your own historical research. About the Borough Bingo Night
The Borough of Hatboro and the Pennypack Facility Committee are proud to present the 2025 Borough Bingo Night. We have moved it to Saturday, March 8, 2025. Doors open at 6pm, Bingo starts at 7pm. Museum Hours during the Hatboro Battle of the Badges Blood Drive

The Millbrook Society opened the doors to the new Amy B. Yerkes Museum of Hatboro History during the Pennypack Community Center's Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
Folks from across the area stopped in - as did some of our top first responders - before and after giving blood, catching the displays for the first time during a special preview of the work that has been done, viewing our first sets of exhibits, speaking with us all about what's coming next, and taking selfies with the penguin, like the pic to the right with the Upper Moreland Fire Department.
About the Blood Drive
Battle of the Badges was a friendly competition that helps the Red Cross meet patient and hospital demand for blood. Participating agencies included Hatboro Police Department, Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro, Second Alarmers Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County, Upper Moreland Police Department and Upper Moreland Fire Department.
When donors arrived at the blood drive, they had the opportunity to cast a vote for their agency of choice. The winner ,receiving bragging rights and a plaque, was the fire department!
